There are many reasons that patients choose braces over clear aligners. Braces are the tried-and-true method for aligning teeth, and they deliver dependable results. They are generally the most cost-effective orthodontic treatment option. And thanks to advances in technology, they are more comfortable than ever. Low-profile brackets cause less irritation, and you can choose between metal or clear ceramic braces to meet your aesthetic goals.

While every case is different, average treatment time for braces or clear braces is between 18-24 months. Dr. Lin will thoroughly evaluate your unique orthodontic case and help you determine a realistic time frame for your treatment.
While the comfort level of braces has drastically improved from the braces of old, there can still be some degree of discomfort expected when you first have your braces put on, and after each adjustment. Because braces are using gradual pressure to move your teeth into the new, desired position, there will be some feelings of pressure or discomfort initially. This discomfort usually passes quickly and can be aided by the use of over the counter pain medication such as Tylenol or Advil.
People of all ages deserve to have a beautiful, balanced smile. At Lin Orthodontics, we help teens and adults alike to achieve healthy smiles through braces and clear braces. No matter your age, we will find an orthodontic treatment that fits your lifestyle and goals.
During your braces treatment, there will be a few foods that you want to avoid. Extremely hard or sticky foods are more likely to damage your braces. These foods include hard candy, chewing ice, chewing gum, popcorn, nuts, and sticky taffy. Properly caring for your braces will set you up for an efficient and excellent orthodontic treatment experience.
Yes! Every patient will receive their first set of retainers complimentary upon completing their orthodontic treatment. With proper care, these retainers will last you for several years. Lost or broken retainers due to patient negligence will result in a replacement fee.
